What we collect during a live proctored data interview, what we never record, and how long we keep it.

Who we are and our role
Eigen-Rho provides a live, one-to-one, human-proctored data interview. A candidate solves a real business case in live SQL on seeded data in the browser while a trained interviewer watches over a video call.
There are two roles in this policy. The hiring company that invites a candidate decides why the interview happens and what is done with the result, so it is the data controller. Eigen-Rho runs the platform on the hiring company's behalf and acts as the data processor. The verdict from an interview belongs to the hiring company, not to us.
What we collect
From candidates
- Your name.
- The interview work itself: the SQL queries you run, your query history, the case chat, and notes taken during the session.
- Integrity signals captured during the interview: tab or focus loss, presence of a second monitor, paste events, whether the camera is on or off, face presence or absence, and typing rhythm. Typing rhythm is recorded as forensic timing only, not as the content of what you type.
- Face-presence detection. Analysis runs in the candidate's browser; no identity matching, no face templates stored.
- A coarse voice-activity flag derived from your microphone, indicating quiet or voice.
From interviewers
- The login email used to access the platform.
Legal basis
The interview is part of an employer's hiring process. The lawful basis is the legitimate interest of the hiring company in assessing candidates fairly, applied with safeguards such as data minimisation, limited retention, and a human interviewer in the loop. Candidate consent is not used as the sole legal basis, because consent given inside a hiring process cannot be freely given in the way the law requires.
Camera and microphone
The live camera is relayed to the interviewer only and is never recorded or stored by us. Microphone audio stays on the candidate's device; only a coarse voice-activity flag (quiet or voice) is transmitted.
Live video travels peer-to-peer between the candidate and the interviewer. Camera frames used for face-presence detection are analysed in the candidate's browser and are deliberately not persisted on our servers. We do not match faces to an identity and we do not store face templates.

- Relay the live camera to the interviewer for the duration of the call.
- Run face-presence detection in the candidate's browser.
- Transmit a coarse voice-activity flag (quiet or voice).
- Record the interview work: queries, query history, chat, and notes.
- Log integrity signals as advisory inputs for the interviewer.
- Run SQL server-side, read-only, in an isolated per-session database.
- Produce two separate scores, one for skill and one for integrity.
What we never do
- Record or store the live camera feed.
- Send microphone audio off your device.
- Match faces to an identity or store face templates.
- Detect external screen sharing or prevent copying. That is not something any software can reliably do, and we do not claim to.
- Blend the skill and integrity scores into a single number.
- Send the answer key to the browser.
- Sell candidate or interviewer data to anyone.
Integrity signals and human judgment
Scores and integrity signals are advisory inputs. A trained human interviewer conducts the interview and makes the decision. No outcome is produced automatically from a signal or a score. The skill score and the integrity score are kept separate and are never combined.
How long we keep data
By default, completed interviews are kept for 12 months after the interview, after which they are deleted, unless your pilot agreement specifies otherwise. This default can be changed by the hiring company in its agreement with us.
Your rights
Candidates can ask to access the data we hold about their interview, to correct it, or to request its deletion. Because the hiring company is the data controller, some requests are directed to them, and we will help them respond.
